Abby's post about Ag Literacy

On May 23rd the Youth Leadership Academy went to hooper and meet with different farmers. The first farmer grew crops and the told us about the new technology that is coming for the tractors. They bought a GPS that can remeber were they sprayed or planted and it also can drive it self. The GPS cost more than what most GPS's would cost but it was wourth every pennie. The second farmer was a farmer of a dairy farm he showed you how a cow gets milked with a machine instead of hand milking. He showed us the baby cows that was old enough to wean from it's mother. We saw how the mix the food and what they mix together. We got to go into a barn that had a cow in it the just got born. i never seen a newborn cow before that was the first time that I seen that. For the last farm that we went to was in dogde. That farm was a person that bought cattle from actions and other places and then the kept them until they were able to get killed for its meat.
